Abigail was perfect in every possible way. We are blessed beyond measure to have been chosen to be her parents and provide her with a world so full of love. We were thoughtful and deliberate in every difficult decision we made. We "listened" to Abigail and let her guide us throughout her life, despite many doctors suggesting otherwise. We felt comfort and peace in our approach to "parenting" Abigail as we were aware our time with her would likely be brief if we were lucky to have a live birth.
Abigail Ann fought to make it to 40 weeks of pregnancy and was born on May 28, 2019 at 9:17 pm. She weighed 3lb 13oz and was 16.5 inches long. Abigail was a warrior and blessed us with the most beautiful 3 hours and 10 minutes before going to the arms of Jesus at 12:27 am on May 29, 2019.
On September 11, 2018, I found out I was blessed with another child. I was beside myself with excitement and could not believe it. I spent the next few days going to doctors appointments and planning the perfect way to share the news with Brian (without blurting it out as I was walking in the house behind him). Somehow, I managed to wait until the 15th to tell Brian with the help of Annabelle and Addilynn wearing their "sister shark" shirts. It didn't feel real, we were so happy and over the moon we were going to be a family of 5!
On October 10th, we got to have a sneak peek of our new bundle of joy for measurement and dating. We saw the big beautiful heart flicker on the ultrasound screen for the first time. I would stare at that ultrasound picture for hours in disbelief, imagining how Annabelle and Addilynn would play with their new baby brother or sister and shower them with love.
November 27th, Annabelle and I were betting we were getting a baby girl, Brian was betting we were having a boy, and Addilynn, well she was betting on cake. The eager big sisters dug their little hands into a red velvet cake that revealed pink frosting (or red as Annabelle called it). With delight in our eyes (and Annabelle and Addilynn's hands), we were wrapped around our baby girl's little finger even more.
